AJMF 2016 MINI CONFERENCE, GEELONG, 26-28 FEBRUARY

The 2016 Mini Conference will be held from Friday 26 to Sunday 28 February, on the waterfront at the Novotel Geelong in Victoria.  Accommodation is available at the hotel or adjoining  Waterfront apartments.

There are a limited number of rooms available at the Novotel Geelong for $150 per night. Members are advised to book early to secure this special AJMF rate.

1. REGISTRATION DETAILS
Registration includes Kosher Friday night, Saturday and Sunday lunch meals.
AJMF Member $595,   Partner or Medical student $200.
Children  (13-18 years, $100), ( 6-12 years, $75),   Children under 6 free

2. HOW TO BOOK YOUR ACCOMMODATION (Hotel or Apartments)
NOVOTEL GEELONG HOTEL Deluxe hotel rooms start from $150 per night for single/double/twin occupancy.  There is a 2 night minimum stay.  Check-in time 15:00 and check-out is 11:00am.  A $30 surcharge applies for a third child/adult or rolloway bed.

WATERFRONT APARTMENTS Two bedroom apartment prices start from $300 per night and three bedroom apartments start from $350 per night.  There is a 2 night minimum stay.  The apartments have direct access to the hotel and its facilities.

3. PROGRAM (draft, times are approximate)
6:45 pm  Friday night Kabalat Shabbat & dinner.
Guest speaker: Professor Michael Berk “Can we prevent Depression?”

9:30 am  Saturday morning Shabbat service (optional)
11:00 am Dr Howard Freeman OAM from the Australian Jewish Historical Society will speak about the “History of the Jews of Geelong”
12:30 pm Shabbat lunch, followed by walking tour along the foreshore led by local guide or guided tour of the new Geelong Library Saturday night – Trivia competition and supper after Shabbat finishes

Sunday morning  education program
Formal conference program finishes around 12:30pm and packed take-away picnic lunchbags will be provided.

Remainder of Sunday – free.
